2021 Oregon Child Abuse Solutions Medical Academy
Overview
Oregon Child Abuse Solutions (OCAS), in partnership with the DMP Advisory Committee, invites you — physicians, nurses, and physician assistants actively working within Oregon’s Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) system — to participate in a year-long training program to strengthen skills and knowledge in child abuse medical diagnosis and management, while forging connections with peers across the state.
State and regional experts will guide new and experienced CAC medical providers through the fundamentals and advanced principles of child physical abuse and child sexual abuse cases, and equip participants to apply the latest research, guidelines, and evidenced-based practices to assess and diagnose a broad range of cases, while enhancing skills through peer case review.
The OCAS Medical Academy involves monthly, one-hour lectures and panel discussions; quarterly statewide peer reviews; and a one-day conference. Sessions will be virtual using Zoom for Healthcare. The full schedule can be found here.
