Presenter Bio
John Casalino is a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the Oregon Department of Justice. He currently works in the Criminal Justice Division. Prior to joining ODOJ in 2022, John was a prosecutor in Multnomah County for twenty-four years where he held various positions including Chief Deputy District Attorney of the Family Justice Division overseeing the MDT/Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Juvenile and Support Enforcement Units. He also served as the Senior Deputy District Attorney/Team Leader of the Multi-Disciplinary (MDT) Child Abuse Team where, for fourteen years, he only prosecuted crimes against children.
From November of 2022 through February of 2024, John had the privilege of serving as the Interim District Attorney of Klamath County. Additionally, he has served on the Oregon’s Children Justice Act Task Force and on the governing board of CARES NW; he has chaired the Child Abuse MDTs for both Multnomah and Klamath County as well as the Multnomah Child Fatality Review Team and the Multnomah County Sexual Assault Response Team. He has been a member of the Multnomah County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team and a member of the State Child Fatality Review Team.
