Training Objectives

During this 4-morning, live, virtual training, Oregon’s forensic interviewing experts will help learners:

  • Understand the MDT process including the best practices standards, and how to work with children’s advocacy centers (CACs).
  • Discuss foundational topics of child development, memory and trauma, and the disclosure process.
  • Apply best practices when receiving disclosures from children.
  • Apply best practices in initial responder (minimal facts) interviews with children.
  • Understand the life of a child abuse case, from disclosure through the judicial process.
Schedule

All registrants are required to attend all four virtual sessions and complete each daily survey in order to receive a certificate of completion:

    • Life of a Case, Part 3: The Forensic Interview
    • Life of a Case, Part 4: Judicial Handling, Corroboration, Testimony
